Anuradhapura Part 1

Anuradhapura, the first established kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka, and now a UNESCO World Heritage. This is an ancient city that you must see with your own eyes. Truly mesmerizing.

Here are some photos I took while touring around these breathtaking ancient city established by King Pandukabhaya in 377 BC. A photo the worst photographer :p

Only foundation of the building left

Walking through one of the ancient ruined towns of Anuradhapura

It's where they sit and meditate those ancient times...

I was in between those boulders if you see the previous photo

Some part of the ruined buildings

A view of the boulders and the missing building

The paddy field

There is a temple there but just can't find my way around this paddy field :p

Walking around the ancient city. Looks like some pond out there...

Almost near. Looks like some man made waterfall...

It's actually their irrigation system...

Designed by some of the best engineers from ancient times...

There are so many of them around here. Must have been beautiful with the water in it.

Even a place to sit and date!! What a romantic engineer...

I've got a surprise. Come see what they have behind here...

Man Made Lake!! A huge one... now where did they get all this water from?

To be continued.....

Roti Jala with Chicken Curry

Here' is a recipe I tried last year. Roti Jala with Chicken Curry. Don't know what Roti Jala is....well if I translate it's  called Net Bread in English. But I guess Net Crepes sounds better. I can't remember where I got this recipe because it's been a long time since I made this and I forgot to write down the recipe.

Some photo's of my Net Crepes with Chicken Curry. Taste real good. Look around for the recipe.

Super easy to make. Except that you will need the mold to make the crepes. And of course some practice... :D. The mold looks like the picture below. I bought it in Jusco....I think it's still available and very cheap. Or maybe you can make your own.

My Very First Dress

This week, time seems to pass very slow. I thought it was Friday already. But just realised yesterday that today is just Thursday. I have finished my dress. I can't find a name for it. So here is the photos of my very first dress. Actually it's not a dress, it's a top. Can wear it with pants.

That is the embroidery. A very simple stitch with some gold colour beads.

I'm wearing it to an outing this Sunday. ^_^

By the way, I need to get some good sleep. I have  been sacrificing my sleep and have been up till late night finishing this tops. I look horrible in this photo, but it's okay. The important thing is ..... MY VERY FIRST DRESS! opppss TOPS!!

P.S : I need a DSLR Camera.... =.='

It's Almost Done

I'm so excited. My tops is almost done. Today I will start doing the embroidery design and hopefully I will complete by tonight. Then's time to take photos of my new tops. Now what shall I call my fist ever dress. Thinking...thinking....thinking.

So the dress of the week will be out on Friday. One week to make one dress. was tough you know. But then again, it was fun learning something new. A new page in the book of my life :D.

Can't wait to go back home.... ;p

Chilled Cinnamon Orange Sweet Tea

I have been too addicted to Food Network Asia on Astro for the past 3 weeks. I'm like glued to the television until the extent that I only watch Food Network Asia (ch 706) everytime I switch on the television.

No movies, no series....just Food Network Asia. And that is why I need to take a break and give my eyes some rest. So I thought I should stop watching the cooking channel and start cooking!!

Since it was tea time, I thought it was just nice to try Aarti Sequeira's Kuwaity Iced Tea. The thing is I didn't have all the ingredients that was required for this recipe. So I decided to modify it and see how it would taste. Well it wasn't a major modification. I just replaced the syrup (mint, ginger and sugar) with honey and sugar.

You can get Aarti Sequeira's Kuwaity Iced Tea recipe at the Food Network website. Oh ... another thing is, I did not use ice. I just left the tea in the fridge to chill it. So my version is called Chilled Cinnamon-Orange Sweet Tea.

I boiled a small pot of water with cinnamon and orange slices. Once it starts boiling, I switched off the gas and put in the tea bags for a few minutes. When the tea is ready, I mixed some honey and sugar and kept it in the fridge to chill it.

Loved the aroma of cinnamon and orange....and of course the taste of my chilled cinnamon-orange sweet tea. So refreshing for a hot sunny day. Here are some pictures of my tea :D

I'm Still Alive

Yup...I'm still around, not dead. But just haven't updated my blog for this year. Have not published a single post for 2012. That is terrible, what have I been doing!! It's almost one and a half month.

I've been time. Yup. Been busy with an event last month. But I've worked on something to put on my blog. It's on it's way, of course I can't post it today because the server is damn slow. I am realy getting annoyed with this server. Takes a few minutes just to get this paragraph 'justified'! I think I'm gonna kill this server.....if only I could.

Well, I got engaged last month so I was kind of busy preparing for the event. By the way, about the upcoming posts, I tried two recipies which I'll be posting soon, and with picture. are better. Though you can't taste it, you could still see how yummy it is.

The first one is my own Chicken Briyani and the second is Aarti Sequeira's Kuwaity Iced Tea with some modification. :D.... So that will be on. I'm also in progress of stitching my own blouse.....hope it turns out well.

Okay that's it for now. Even the turtle could type faster than me if I continue typing with this irritating server speed. Chao.....
